Keto coffee has really become a thing on the keto diet. An easy way to start your day off right with some extra fat! However, those other recipes are missing a key ingredient to make their keto coffee a real powerhouse.
Turmeric is a difficult spice for me to get into recipes, yet I know it's anti-inflammatory importance! It also has additional benefits that make it a perfect spice for the keto diet. However, it really can take over the flavor of a dish, so just adding it to anything can ruin a nice recipe.
In my keto coffee, it barely adds any flavor, just a small kick. It is the perfect way to get some turmeric in your diet without even realizing it! If you don't mind the flavor, add a few more dashes to your coffee for extra benefits.
Turmeric is high in manganese. It also contains some beneficial minerals like copper, potassium and iron.
I also love adding cinnamon to my morning beverage. Like turmeric, it has a wide range of benefits. I usually associate cinnamon with sweet baked items like cinnamon rolls - which I definitely won't have a lot of on keto. So just like turmeric, my coffee is a great place to have this wonderful spice. But unlike turmeric I do notice the flavor and love it in the mornings!
